Elkhart Catalyst

Elkhart Catalyst-Intern teams address complex problems related to safe and affordable housing, equitable access to health and well-being, urban environmental sustainability, and data-informed decision-support for community development. An important component of this program includes interns being introduced to STEM professionals to increase awareness of regional employment opportunities to increase the chances of local students staying in the community they have grown and educated.

EEF has provided project-based STEM internships to high school and college students. This program is designed to grow students’ knowledge and application of STEM, leadership, and interpersonal skills by engaging students in diverse teams working on community engaged projects in Elkhart County.

Program provided in partnership with The Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society at the University of Notre Dame.
