Douglas A. Mulvaney is an attorney in Elkhart, Indiana practicing at Mulvaney Law
Office, LLC. He received his college degree from Hope College in Holland, Michigan in 1980
and his law degree from Vermont Law School in South Royalton, Vermont in 1983 where he
took a number of environmental law courses. He has practiced as a trial lawyer in Elkhart,
Indiana since 1983.
Mr. Mulvaney lives in Elkhart with his wife Jennifer Nielsen, a traveling pain pump
infusion nurse, and their cat Beep. Their daughter Anne graduated from Trine University, and
unlike her dad, is a math and science wiz, and graduated with a B.S. degree in forensic science
from Trine University in Angola, Indiana. She currently lives in Milford, Massachusetts with her
husband Steve who designs radars.
When is not in his law office Mr. Mulvaney enjoys skiing, snowboarding, sailing, and
bicycling. Along with his legal practice he is active in several not-for-profit organizations in the
Elkhart and Clear Lake Indiana Communities. In Elkhart he has served on a number of not-for-
profit boards including the Kiwanis Club of Elkhart (past president), Elkhart Legal Aid (current
President), Elkhart Education Foundation (board Secretary), City of Elkhart Historic and
Cultural Preservation Commission (past president), Elkhart City Board of Zoning Appeals
(current president), Friends of the Elkhart Public Library (past president). He has served as a
Board member for the Clear Lake Township Land Conservancy and is currently their Board
President.
