ELKHART – It may have been wet and rainy Saturday in the city of Elkhart, but there was a lot of warmth and brightness emanating from parks and community centers as students pitched in to give back.
Saturday was the second annual Pay it Forward Day, an event that encourages students who received grant support from the Elkhart Education Foundation to reciprocate for the betterment of the community. Approximately 300 students and about 15-20 coaches and chaperones from North Side, Elkhart Central and Elkhart Memorial spent the morning volunteering at 10 different sites around the city.
